Mary Ann “Snookie” Gotelaere, 73, of Barnes and formerly of Superior, died Monday, January 11, 2021, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Duluth.
She was born August 29, 1947 in Superior, daughter of Jerry and Ruth (Sheasby) Archambeau.
On November 12, 1966 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Superior, Robert Gotelaere and Mary Ann Archambeau were united in marriage.
Snookie’s work history included both Prange Way and Younkers in Superior, and most recently Pamida in Hayward.
She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, playing cards with her weekly ladies’ card group at the VFW in Barnes, gardening, living on the lake and traveling south to winter in Alabama.
Preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Geraldine Skoglund; brothers-in-law, Richard Berthiaume and Ronald Skoglund; and niece, RuthAnn Berthiaume.
Survivors include her husband of over 54 years, Robert “Bob” Gotelaere, Barnes; daughters, April (Jim) Campbell, Superior, Anne Warzyn, Appleton, WI, and Angel Gotelaere, Superior; 6 grandchildren, Jason, Ryan, Eric, Alex, Rebecca and Gabe; siblings, Carol Berthiaume, Danny (Sally) Archambeau, Jerry (Joyce) Archambeau, Joan (John) Belch, and Ralph (Pam) Archambeau; her in-laws of the Gotelaere family and many nieces and nephews.
