Lanny Robert Haglund passed away unexpectedly on November 27,
2024 in Avon Park, Florida at the age of 77. Born on February 7, 1947 in
Superior, WI to the late Robert and Hazel Haglund.
Lanny grew up with the deep appreciation for family, hard work and
enjoying being in the outdoors. He moved to Florida in 2017 with his
beloved wife of 55 years bringing with him the same warmth and
resilience that defined his life.
He was a proud veteran of the US Army and a member of the American
Legion. His career took him into the world of management where he
made a lasting impression through his dedication and remarkable ability
to connect with others- Ending his career proudly at the Mayo Clinic,
Rochester Mn.
Known for humor, Lanny had a gift for storytelling (short story long)
and could often be found sharing a laugh or joke among friends and
family. He was an avid sports fan for loving all WI sports teams
especially the Green Bay Packers. He also loved his 1 man Happy Hour
on Friday nights listening to his favorite music.
He is survived by his loving wife Pam (Stralka) Haglund, Daughter
Lainie (Jeremy) Edmonson, Granddaughters Marcy (Travis) Freese and
Alyssa (Gavin) Tennessen. 3 great grandchildren, Jane, Roger and
Norman. Sister Janeen (Jay) Miland, Brothers, Craig Haglund and
Robert (Gail) Haglund. Brother in Law Jim (Marilyn) Stralka and many
nieces and nephews.
Preceded by death his parents, his in laws Paul and Marge Stralka, his
sister Sheila Bloomquist and Brother in law Tim Stralka.
Celebration of life with be determined in the spring in Superior WI.
